I launched the "Realtors Driving Hybrids" Initiative as a challenge to my fellow real estate agents to consider a more environmentally friendly alternative to their traditional vehicles.

It took me a while to get with the program. Like many realtors, I've racked up a lot of miles over my career driving clients around on home tours. The rise in gas prices and the threat of climate change finally got me thinking that it was time to make a change. So I recently traded in my gas-guzzling SUV for a used 2007 Lexus SUV and haven't looked back.

Although I've certainly enjoyed visiting the pump less often and the clearer conscience that comes from driving a more environmentally friendly car, I feel that there is still more to do.

I launched this website as a way for like-minded real estate agents to show our commitment to consuming less energy and minimizing our carbon footprint.
