Agents Driving Hybrids - Brian Boardman

Consider the Big Picture

Even if you weren't concerned about rising gas prices, the environmental benefits alone, of going hybrid, might turn you into a convert.

Global Warming: A conventional gas-powered vehicle emits 20 lbs. of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere for every gallon of gasoline it burns.  Carbon dioxide is believed to be a major contributor to global warming.

A hybrid runs off a rechargeable battery and gasoline, rather than just gasoline.  When a hybrid accelerates, it relies on its battery-powered motor instead of its gasoline-powered engine, which results in fewer greenhouse gas emissions than a conventional vehicle that relies solely on fuel for energy.

Air Pollution: Conventional cars pollute the air with a number of harmful gases, such as nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, and hydrocarbons. A wide range of health problems and common diseases - including cancer, respiratory issues, asthma, and even birth defects - are linked to vehicle air pollution. Hybrids, due to their unique design, do not emit harmful pollutants when they're running off their battery-powered motors.

Water Pollution: The oil and other car fluids used to operate a conventional car compromise the quality of our water. Of course, humans, plants, and animals all need clean air and water to prosper.
